Mindfulness meditation has received attention in the media and research. It has been effectively used as a complimentary approach to traditional medicine and psychotherapy. Mindfulness is a secular form of meditation that is based on thousands of years of wisdom traditions.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program is one of the most researched and well-respected evidence based mindfulness programs. The program provides participants with the opportunity to engage in formal MBSR mindfulness meditation practices, as well as investigation of themes of perception, automatic, habitual stress reactivity, mindfulness-mediated stress response, and interpersonal communication.
If you are interested in learning more about it, attending a MBSR information session is a good starting point.
The MBSR information session is FREE and open to anyone 19 years and older. At the same time, it is a free prerequisite for those who are interested in registering in an eight-week MBSR program at our Centre For Mindfulness Canada. As a Certified MBSR Teacher and Trainer with the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Centre for Mindfulness (CFM) and Mindfulness Center at Brown University, it brings me great joy to introduce participants to mindfulness through theses info sessions.
The FREE talk in February have been part of the British Columbia Psychological Association’s (BCPA) Psychology Month.
